I’m Henrique Bastos. I’ve been writing Python for 25 years.

I’m a Distinguished Engineer at Routable, where we build payment solutions. Before that, I ran a consulting practice focused on Python, Django, TDD, and Extreme Programming — connecting software design with business value.

In 2011, I created Welcome to the Django, an online course that trained over 10,000 developers. The courses are now freely available on YouTube.

I’ve been deeply involved in the Python community. I directed finances for the Python Brasil Association for 4 years, scaling from 1 to 23 community events and helping grow the national conference to nearly 2,000 attendees. I’m a Fellow of both the Python Software Foundation and the Django Software Foundation.
